Where? by the Pennington Rec center

What are volunteers expected to do? run registration and assist with games.

Attire? Gamma Beta Phi shirt is preferable but any SELU colors/shirts will be acceptable

New Member Meeting

Feb. 6 (12:30 pm-1:30pm) and Feb. 7 (3:45 pm- 5 pm)

What are the volunteers expected to do?
 Answer new member questions, greet people, and pass out papers/treats. 
Where? 
Meeting room- Student union 2207
Attire? 
Gamma Beta Phi shirt is HIGHLY recommended for this event. Professional attire is appropriate as well. 
Additional notes: ​
You should know basic information about our society and be willing to say positive things in order to recruit new members. Even though this is only scheduled for 45 minutes, volunteers will earn 1 service point.


 Valentine's Event

 

When? February 6th; 11 am- 1 pm

Adopt- A- Street #1


When? February 21st; after the regular Wednesday meeting (about 5:30pm)
Who puts this event on? ​​Gamma Beta Phi and Campus Beautification 
Where? Magnolia Street. We will meet at the meeting room Student Union 2207 and travel together.
What are volunteers expected to do? Pick up trash along the road in an effort to keep our campus beautiful. 
Attire? Casual clothes are appropriate
Additional notes: This event usually takes 30 mins or so, but all participants will be given 1 service point. NO SIGN UP NECESSARY, just come!



Rock and Roar


When? Feb. 24; 8 am - (approximately) 1 pm

Where? outside of the union

What are volunteers expected to do? Sell snacks 

Attire? GBP shirt is preferable but any SLU shirt is acceptable

What are the volunteers expected to do? Make and deliver goodies to various departments on campus

Where? Memorial park (by the bookstore)
What are volunteers expected to do? We will be selling snowballs for a $1

The Big Event


When? ​April 21st; Time TBA

Who puts this event on? ​​CAB

Where? Meet in the union breezeway by the big 'S'

What are the volunteers expected to do? once in groups/teams, the CAB representatives will give each team a task. This may involve going off campus.
Attire? Casual Clothes/ something that can get dirty.

Additional Notes: This event is a TON of fun and gives back to the community. We want as many GBP teams as possible. If you can drive and are willing to drive others, please bring your car. Many times the teams are directed to sites that are off campus (but still local) and need to have appropriate transportation. 


Special Olympics  
When? Wednesday April 25, 9 am - 6 pm

Graduation Set- Up


When? May 11th, time TBA
Who puts this event on? Career Services
Where? University Center
What are volunteers expected to do? Lift and move plants, boxes, flags, etc. Sets the stage for graduation.
Attire? Clothes you can work in (flexible). 
Additional notes: if you do not feel comfortable moving boxes, decorating, or lifting things, please find other service opportunities. Not everything that needs to be set is very heavy, but you will be moving things.


Graduation Commencement


 When? May 12, time TBA

What are volunteers expected to do? escorts, ushering
Attire? Professional/ business attire is required
Additional notes: please arrive early, because of parking. You will be dismissed right before graduation starts, so if you have a sibling or friend who is graduating, you will not miss the ceremony.
